DESTINATION: THE ATACAMA DESERT AND EASTER ISLAND (RAPA-NUI)

I’ve always wanted to visit the oldest, driest desert in the world: Atacama. It is truly an oxymoronic landscape because it has vast wind farms and solar fields for clean energy production while concurrently having intense lithium and copper mining which is drying up the aquifers…

Easter Island…Rapa nui is our other destination - a magical, mysterious island landscape five hours by plane due west from Santiago. Even more remote than our in investigation of American Samoa in 2018.
